Mark Nagel
MARK NAGEL is a co-founder of RescueSF. Mark helped create RescueSF because he saw a need for ordinary residents to become more actively involved in addressing San Francisco’s homelessness crisis. Mark previously participated in the neighborhood coalition that successfully advocated for historic preservation in the Presidio, and he also served on the board of the Marina Community Association. Mark spent most of his career in the financial sector in the United States and Europe, working in investment banking with Merrill Lynch and ThinkEquity Partners and in venture capital with Doughty Hanson. Earlier in his career, Mark served as a financial consultant to the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. His proposal regarding regional budget transfers was adopted into law by the Russian Parliament. Mark holds a B.A. from Georgetown, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard.
